Swimming

Aaron brought Naomi and Jocie over on Saturday and we all went swimming. Those little girls are so cute! Naomi was scared at first, and sat on the stairs for a good half hour, but then Aaron finally dragged her in, and she had fun.

Joel bought a waterproof digital camera in preparation for snorkeling in Cancun, so we decided to test it. This picture cracks me up!

Jack Johnson Concert

The Jack Johnson concert was last night. I have been waiting for about three years for him to come back to Utah. It was AMAZING! We bought our tickets the day they went on sale, and got pit tickets. We got there early and were right up on the bar. It was so awesome being that close for the concert. Jack Johnson is so freaking good. Here are some videos and pictures from the concert.

They had a really cool backdrop with six different screens that kept changing pictures.

The opener was Neil Halstead (left), then the band Rogue Wave (singer in middle), and then of course Jack last. They all came out and sang a song together.

Zach Gill is Jack's sidekick. He plays the piano mostly, but throws in a bunch of other instruments as well. He is a really good singer too.

If you look closely at the back screen in this one, you can see Joel doing and I love you sign with his hand. It's in the first little bit of the video, so look carefully.

For the encore, Jack came out alone and did some songs. It was so good. The backdrop changed and just looked like stars, really pretty.

Family

It was brought to my attention that I have never had pictures of my in-laws on our blog, and I feel bad about it! People who have kids always blog about their kids, and I have found that we mostly blog about our neices and nephew and brothers and sisters. We have left out some of the VERY important people in our lives, so this entry is for them.

This is Charles and Doug. Charles (left) is Joel's dad, and Doug (right) is his partner. They live downtown SLC with their dog Deacon, and are two of the nicest people I know. We always enjoy spending time with them. They are AWESOME grandpas. I can't wait until we have kids so they can spoil them too : ) I really appreciate all the love and support they have given us throughout the 2.5 years we have been married, and I know Joel does as well. We love you guys!

This is Kelli and Mark. Kelli is Joel's mom, and Mark is her husband. They live in Herriman, which is just about 15 minutes from us. They are awesome grandparents as well. Kelli sews the cutest clothes for her grandchildren, and has helped me sew a quilt and taught me how to crochet. They are both always willing to help us with whatever they can. They have also been supportive throughout the whole time I have known then. I am so grateful to be a part of their family and love them both very much!

The Man Who Planted Trees

A fond memory of growing up... One day my Father brought home this video and had our family watch the video. I was just an early teenager, but I remember the message that this video provides. I just wanted to share it with you all. It is a powerful video. It takes a while to watch, but I would hope that all of you can take 20 minutes and watch it. We can all make a difference in this world.
